'Brindhaavanam' censored with a clean ‘U’ certificate

Arulnithi Tamilarasu’s upcoming feel-good drama Brindhaavanam has been censored with a clean ‘U’ certificate. The run time of the film is just 130 minutes and our sources say that the makers are planning for a theatrical release in May. Directed by Radha Mohan of Mozhi fame, Arulnithi plays a mute and deaf in the film, which is all about how the hero’s life changes after meeting his favorite comedian Vivek during a film shoot. Tanya Ravichandran plays the romantic interest of Arulnithi in the film and Vishal Chandrasekar is composing the music. Meanwhile, impressed by the working style of Radha Mohan, Arulnithi has signed his second film with the director. After the release of Brindhaavanam, Arulnithi and Radha Mohan will be revealing more details on their second project.

Production

In June 2016, Shan Sutharsan of Vansan Movies announced that his production studio would simultaneously produce two Tamil films — a project by Radha Mohan and Mahendran Rajamani's Enakku Vaaitha Adimaigal. Arulnithi and Vivek were reported to play leading roles, while newcomer Tanya, granddaughter of actor Ravichandran, was selected as the lead actress. M. S. Prabhu and Vishal Chandrasekhar were revealed as the film's cinematographer and composer, though Prabhu was later replaced by newcomer M.S. Vivekanand, an erstwhile assistant of P. C. Sriram. Radha Mohan announced actor Vivek would portray himself and the film would be about the bonding between a popular actor and his fan, though distanced reports that the film would be along the lines of the 2016 Hindi film, Fan.

The film was officially launched with the title Brindavanam in mid August 2016, with Vivek planting a tree sapling to commemorate the start of the film's shoot in Sakleshpur, Karnataka.

Paytm in talks with SoftBank to raise $ 1.2 to $ 1.5 billion

Paytm in talks with SoftBank to raise $ 1.2 to $ 1.5 billion

The deal, which could increase Paytm's valuation to $7 to $9 billion, will see SoftBank buying some shares from existing Paytm investor SAIF Partners and founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma beside investing money in the company, the report said.

Local media had reported recently that SoftBank is keen to sell its stake in India's e-commerce firm Snapdeal in exchange for a stake in market leader Flipkart.

Paytm may also buy Snapdeal-owned payments rival Freecharge, as part of the deal, the report said.

Digital payments have assumed great significance in India after the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government ban on old high-valued bank notes in November led to a severe cash crunch across the country.
